![]() | ![]() Sitting at home after the past 9 days, it's hard to believe what an impact studio2stage has had on me. Before this I had only known competition dancing; the wigs, the judges, the nerves. To stand in the wings on show day, and to have nothing but excitement running through me was so indescribable. I am thankful beyond words for the production team for making this all possible and the choreographers for sharing their knowledge with us. They made 9 days look like we had been practicing for months! I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to surround myself with this week and I would come back in a heartbeat! Much love to everyone! ![]() Date of Posting: 12 August 2015 Posted By: Tess Barrett 2015 cast member |
![]() I don't know where to start. From the day I walked through the doors of rehearsals i didn't know that those 9 days would be the best 9 days of my entire life. Thanks to the Choreographers, Producers, Cast, Musicians, Costume department etc for being so helpful all week for being so kind, thoughtful, and making me feel so comfortable and special being so far away from home. I was so inspired, so grateful, fulfilled and so happy all week. The choreographers were the most kind hearted and special people and I am so glad I got to spend 9 days with them. It was nice to have them sitting with us during breakfast, lunch and dinner it made me feel so connected to them. They were so open minded so helpful and gave you brilliant advice if you needed it. I admire and respect them so much. From the Oscars night, to dancing in Times Square, singing on the train into NYC, Ordering pizza late at night with the most amazing people, having sings songs in the university, laughing so much our stomach hurts and tears were strolling down our faces these were memories I'll never ever forget. s2s really made me test my limits, be fearless, jump into everything with two feet, and have an open mind and heart. I grew as a person, became more independent and learnt so much about myself that I didn't know. The vibes all week were so positive and I couldn't wait to wake up every morning and do what I love. s2s has really shown me how much I want to fulfil my dreams of being a professional show dancer and tour the whole world. I also learned that it's the people you meet along the way that makes the experience so much more incredible and worth while. I would recommend s2s to any dancer who wants pursue a career within dance it is so totally worth every second. This feels like the start for me. I can't wait for studio2stage 2016. Love you all so much, Wish you all the best of luck in everything you all do in the future. Hope we cross paths again very soon. ![]() | ![]() Before doing studio2stage this past week, I had no idea how much one experience could shape my character and help me grow so much as a person. I remember the day that I logged onto my account and discovered that I had been accepted so clearly. I was in school and immediately called my mom from the library, crying (much to the librarian's discontent) because I was absolutely overjoyed. Although I was excited, I also felt bad putting that financial burden on my parents because they already helped support so many of my dance ambitions. Paying for studio2stage was something that I wanted to do by myself, and so my acceptance motivated me to get a job, and even though working while going to school was difficult, every night I would think about how amazing the experience was going to be, and it made everything worth it. On the first day of rehearsal, I was so nervous but also incredibly excited. I came into the experience not knowing many people, but I was absolutely thrilled to be able to work with all of the other talented dancers and world-renowned choreographers. As the week progressed, the practices became less painful, and I began to see how rewarding working hard as a team could be. It's amazing how many different people I met, and now every major I can't wait to find and reconnect with all of my friends. There is no feeling more fulfilling than the one that I felt the day of the final performance. Being able to stand on that stage and perform for all of those people just filled me with the deepest happiness, especially because I knew that all of those extra hours that I had to work and blisters that I had to endure had led up to that point. I just wanted to thank you so much for making this dream a reality for me, and I hope to see you and everyone else next year! ![]() Date of Posting: 09 August 2015 Posted By: Christy David 2015 cast member |
